* Doug McCauley, 55, of Sacramento, is the appointed commissioner of the Department of Real Estate. McCauley has served as Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Community Development since 2018, and has served as acting Director of the Department since 2019. He was executive officer at the California Architects Board from 2001 to 2018. McCauley earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Golden Gate University.

* Jeff Kahn managed several large real estate brokerages for approximately 25 years, including Berkshire Hathaway and Prudential California Realty. Jeff is a Risk Management Attorney for Spile, Leff, and Goor. He is on the front line answering the questions and assisting the agents with their real estate issues. Jeff has been a CAR Director for many years and has been Chairperson of the Standard Forms Committee a couple of times. He has been involved in the drafting of the Statewide CAR standardized forms for many years going back to the mid-1980s. He is also involved at the Southland Regional Association of Realtors, he trains on Contracts and Disclosures and is responsible for drafting the local forms used by SRAR.
