On May 20, 2026, PSAR member volunteers braved the morning commute to man the intersections for Red Shoe Day, raising $2,869 and ranking 5th among the 800 participating teams. The money raised goes to the Ronald McDonald House to ensure San Diego families can stay with their children while they fight to overcome.
Special thank you to team leaders Merrie Espina and Jaymee Torres, and our incredible volunteers:

The Cause: Keeping Families Close
When a child is hospitalized, their loved ones become their strongest support system and ally in healing. Unfortunately, many families can't afford lodging near the hospital during this difficult time. Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from home" so families can stay close to their sick children without enduring financial strain.
